August Is Coming

I know, bad title. But I already said I couldn't come up with a good one, so whatever, let's just get on with the post...

My mom met two actresses on Sunday-Natalie Martinez and Aisha Hinds! They were filming "Under The Dome" in my area and those two ladies were at one of my dad's gig! It's funny cause Vanessa Hudgens was at one of my dad' gigs, so I guess they like his music :)

I wasn't there (I think it was late or something), but it was so cool when Momma told me about it. She even got (I think) Aisha's number, so we're like friends now. With a celebrity :D. And once "Under The Dome" came on Monday, Momma texted Aisha that she liked the show and she responded back! It was so cool-seriously, I feel awesome now :D

In less exciting news, I watched the new episode of Switched At Birth and it was actually more interesting than I had hoped :). But it was so confusing-they showed a promo last week, but there was stuff in the promo that didn't appear this week! So apparently they combined promos together from this week and next week's episode (they didn't have a promo for this week). It's really weird, but whatever....

(I must warn you that this post will turn into a rant in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...)

But you know what I hate? I NEVER get to meet a famous celebrity. They filmed part of "Journey 2 The Center Of The Earth" (Vanessa Hudgens, Dwayne Johnson, Josh Hutcherson), "Iron Man 3" (Robert Downey, Jr., of course), "Revolution", and now "Under The Dome" in my area, and not ONCE have I met one of the actors! I was SO excited to meet Dwayne Johnson but never did. I WANTED to meet Robert Downey, Jr., but I didn't! I don't watch "Reoultion" or "Under The Dome", but some of my friends were extras on there and I WANTED to be an extra SO BAD!!! Heck, my dad met Vanessa, but who do I meet? NOONNEEE!!!

Since I'm in the mood of complaining, I'm gonna rant about Comic Con, too!  I reaaaaaaallllly wish I could have gone to Comic Con..seriously, now that I've embraced my nerdiness I see every opportunity with my favorite movies/books/characters/ and grab at it.

Okay, I'm done...well, not yet. On Monday, my sisters told me about some Disney XD promo (that I saw later on) about their fandom block coming on July 30...they showed Star Wars (OMG!!!), Pirates Of The Caribbean (OMG!!!) and Once Upon A Time (Wanna see it!) OMG OMG OMG I WAS FANGIRLING...okay, okay, I'm cool now. *sighs* I love you Disney. I love you so much<3

(Okay, okay, now I'm done. Seriously, I am.)

Tuesday was my dad's birthday! I don't think I should say his age-yeah, I won't XD. Anyway, we didn't do too much, but Momma took him out to do a bunch of things (without us-it was kind of like a date night). I didn't go to the library that day cause it was his birthday, which was fine because honestly, I get tired of selfing books at times. Don't get me wrong-I love my job-it's just, I don't mind a break, you know? But anyway, that's getting off subject.

I also finished Legend on Tuesday, feeling pretty satisfied. I don't think it compares to Divergent and is certainly not my favorite, but let's put all negatives aside-it was a very good book. And I found out that it had a sequel "Prodigy", which I will be looking out for at my library (I don't think they have it, though. Boohoo :P). I just love dystopian novels so much-I've actually gotten some ideas on some I want to write myself! :) I just gotta make sure it's not a ripoff, though, because one I have is a semi-ripoff of "The Hunger Games" :P

On Wednesday I made a pair of flip flops out of duct tape!!! I'm not even freaking out anymore over that because it's so normal at this point! But I am so excited, and you want to know why? I've wanted flip flops for awhile, and now I have them! And all it costs was duct-tape and what, like, five minutes?

Either Wednesday or Thursday (I think it was the latter) I got my test results back from the C.A.T. test. I did pretty well on it and only missed (at most) three problems. I'm so surprised that I did so well in math and not as much in English-I mean, I love English, and math-well, math and I have a complicated relationship ;) Lol

Nothing's really happened on Friday. I did a little planning for my school schedule next year a few days  ago-we may start school in late August (like on the 16) since Manny will in college. Bohoo :( But on the bright side we may take breaks when he does, not to mention dance will start again! And I'll probably join a homeschool group and maybe go to prom this year!!!

Late July

I really wish I could come up with cooler titles, but whatever. You all know the drill; I'll write an overview of my week, attempt to be funny at some points, talk about my latest obsession, blah blah blah...

So on Monday, nothing really happened (unfortunately). I REALLY need to get out more-I've spent most of my days in the house (Tuesday is the only day I get out of the house). But anyway, I did enjoy myself despite not doing much. I watched the new "Switched At Birth"that night, as usual. Not as exciting as the "What If" episode, but still good.

Tuesday was just normal-I went to the library, as usual, to volunteer. While I was there I looked for "The Hobbit" but it wasn't there-it never seems to be when I want to read it. But anyway, I picked up "Legend" instead-it's a dystopian novel set in the futuristic United States. I'll review it on "My Reads next week ;)

Wednesday was the same as the previous days until later in the afternoon-my grandma came over :) She wanted us (the teenagers) to watch "Dirty Dancing" with her (she LOVES the movie-I think it's her favorite film). So we did, and I ended up enjoying it more than I had assumed I would. I also recognized some of the dance moves they did, particularly the lifts-my brother Manny did them in dance class ;). So afterwards we ate popcorn, and she left later than evening.

On Thursday I continued reading "Legend" (I read some on Wednesday) and just did whatever I wanted to. Mom stopped by Target to get me some new duct tape on Tuesday so I made some little projects with them-I'm still in love with that stuff! I saw this picture in a magazine about making duct tape clothes for a barbie doll and SO want to do it! My parents even said that I could maybe sell my products. Who knows? I could become an entrepreneur before I graduate from high school! :D

Not much has happened on Friday so far-I read more of "Legend" and did whatever. I may do some more duct tape crafts today and will try to finish this one story I'm writing (over halfway done! Yes!) And I was thinking of watching Disney's Atlantis today or tomorrow since they have it on Netflix-I haven't seen it in forever, and I remembering it being good (but underrated)-and I'll probably watch some "Doctor Who" tomorrow. I've just started watching the show and have to admit it's a little addicting-you literally cannot just watch one episode!

Okay, I'm done. I so wish this post had been longer, but whatever. I did make a longer post not too long ago, so it kind of evens itself out. And maybe I'll do something exciting enough next week so that the next blog post will be longer.

Okay, NOW I'm done. BYE!!!

Marathons And Stuff

Hiya! I'm super excited to write this post because I've actually done some interesting things this week! Not that I wasn't happy the other days of the week (I was) it just didn't make for good blog posts, you know?

I FINALLY FINISHED THE DEATHLY HALLOWS!!! I am SO happy that I finished all 7 Harry Potter books! It was so long but I went through it-and let me tell you, I don't regret it one bit. The last bit of the novel was so GRIPPING and I literally had to pull myself away from it. The ending was kind of epic and satisfying enough for any Potterhead :). I love you, J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter is the best book series I have ever read. EVER.

Well, now that I'm done with HP what am I going to do with my life XD? Hehe, I was thinking about reading "Lord Of The Rings" because I heard people loved it-not to mention it looks cool. I can just see myself getting obsessed with it-I tend to get obsessed with stories that have their own worlds ("Star Wars", "Harry Potter"). It's just that I love being transported to another universe :). So don't be surprised if I start saying, "You have elected the way of pain!" or "One does not simply go into Mordor" ;)

Besides reading, I had loads of fun with ABC Family's programming. I love ABC Family; seriously, they showed both "National Treasure" movies on Saturday :). I was so happy; me and my siblings made some popcorn and sat down watching it. While not my favorite films, they were very enjoyable and fun-I love those kind of adventure films :). Jerry Bruckheimer's films seem to be like that (ala "Pirates Of The Caribbean").

Could ABC Family have made me any happier when they showed ALL four "Pirates of The Caribbean" movies on Sunday? I don't think so :). Seriously, I had only caught the first one and loved it so much that I wanted to watch the others. "Dead Man's Chest" wasn't as good (it was weird and kind of confusing on some parts) and I didn't watch"At World's End" or "On Stranger Tides", but it was still entertaining enough. And hey, Jack Sparrow's in it-gotta love him :)

I can actually love ABC Family more, because they also made "Switched At Birth" one of my favorite television shows. I'm looking forward to the "What If" episode, but I hate how they left off on a cliffhanger from the last episode! (This next episode is an alternate universe). Seriously, I love "What Ifs" but a guy PASSED OUT on the last episode of SAB!!! I have to know what happens to him!!! WHY, ABC FAMILY, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME????????????????????

(Okay, okay, I'm done. I just needed to get that out.)

In other news, I have been writing my stories as usual. But I have writer's block again, or I really don't want to get past the boring stuff in one of my stories (that happens too often :P). But I really need to make myself write, because how else to I expect myself to improve? Maybe I'll read some goods books; they usually inspire me to write :).

Speaking of writing, my good friend Sarah Demens is putting me in one of her stories (I think it's called "Virtus"?) I'm seriously honored that someone is putting me in their story-seriosuly, I feel like a celebrity :). And the main reason I'm posting this is because Sarah was asking her bloggers for a little advertisement, which I'd be happy to give. So go check out her blog :D

I watched the "What If" episode of "Switched At Birth" on Monday-it was pretty interesting. Of course, part of the reason could be because of my ranting on and on on how I wanted to see what happened to the character who passed out instead and didn't want to watch the What If episode now. But of course my love for What Ifs took over :)

On Monday, Mom made us take the evil C.A.T. test!!! (Obviously it wasn't evil, but I didn't want to take it...) Let me explain: Ever year homeschoolers in North Carolina have to take the California Achievement Test (I think that's what C.A.T. stands for) and then they compare our results to other people who have taken it...to be honest, I don't know why we have to take it-we don't even get to know what answers we got right or wrong-but I guess it's so that it's proven we're learning...

Tuesday and Wednesday weren't TOO bad...to be honest, the C.A.T. test wasn't horrible (it never really is). In fact, I actually understood most of the stuff they were asking. Honestly, I just don't like taking the test :P

But other than the C.A.T. test, not much has been happening. I've been doing more projects with duct tape (*cough* *cough* obsessed *cough* *cough*). I've made cute little hair bows out of duck tape (LOVE them!), plus I have decorated old jars with duct tape!

Here are some pictures:

It's covered in 100% duct tape!!!
I keep my hair bows in here :)

You like? I also have some pictures of more duct tape wallets I made, too:

I could fit my library card in the pockets :)

Took another pic in case the other wasn't good

Me holding the wallet

My cards in the wallet

I have an unhealthy obsession with duct tape; I spent at least 30 minutes pinning duct tape projects on Pinterest. My mom used to buy that stuff to fix things, so now whenever I see a roll I think, "Ooh, duck tape wallet! Duct tape hair bows! Duct tape decorations!"

I don't want to bombarder you with my crafts, so I think I'm gonna make a blog to put all my creations on-my duct tape crafts (obviously), sewing projects drawings...I am a creative freak, so it will be filled with TONS of crafts. The next thing I want to is nail art (and decorating a phone case with nail polish), and I am SO excited! EEEK!!!

Well it's Friday now and not much has happened. I had planned to see "Monsters University" today, but it didn't really work out-plus, it started to rain like MAD outside...I think Zeus is angry ;). Hehe, see you guys later!!!!!!!!

Crafts, Writing, Reading, And Stuff

Okay, I know the title's bad, but I was going for something that matched what the post was going to be about. But whatever, let's get onto the post...
Nothing very interesting has been happening lately. I am ALMOST done with the Deathly Hallows (WAHOO!!!) and let me just say how GRIPPING it is. I loved how adventurous it was at the beginning, but now things are getting intense as we close near the end! I'm so hyped for the ultimate battle between Harry and Voldemort...
But you might not want to hear about that if you're not a Potterhead (what's wrong with you? Lol jk) or haven't gotten that far. So, let's get to some other things I've been doing this summer, shall we?
I don't know if I mentioned this in an older post or not (I think I did), but I had been wanting to go to the craft store and finally got to a few weeks ago...I seriously love the craft store. I am very creative, and just to see all the project ideas (revamping t-shirts, bedazzling) made me feel like I was in heaven.
But the thing that really made me feel like I was in heaven was the duck tape. Originally I thought duck tape was just for sticking stuff back together, but no...that stuff is so freaking strong that you can make CRAFTS out of them! Seriously, you can make hair bows, bags, flip-flops, and (the one that I've been making) wallets!
Yes, I have make friggin' wallets out of duck tape! Can you believe it? I didn't when I first was making it, but then it was like-it was right in front of me! It's a hard feeling to describe, but...wow, it was AMAZING.
You really do need to see it to believe it, though, so here are some pics:

The photos aren’t the greatest, but I hope that you can still make them out. Can you believe it’s made out of ducktape? I could hardly believe it the first time I made it!
It’s SUPER easy to make. I googled how to make it and I found this easy tutorial video on YouTube.
In other news, I have been getting my butt back to writing again . Haha. You really just have to force yourself to sit down and write, even if you don’t want to. In the end it pays off, too, because I cannot stop smiling proudly at my 30,000+ worded story I wrote for the first book in my “Hyper-Monkey” series.
By the way, if anyone out there is a bookworm like me, I would very much appreciate it if you checked out my page on Figment! I've only posted one story so far-actually, it's a poem-but I plan to post more in the future. Anyway, you're welcome to check out my profile or whatever-I want to get some feedback on my work :)

Well, that's it (unfortunately; I wanted to right more). Until next time, readers!

Bye!
