The Weekly Log Of My Incredibly Average Life

Hey, I wanted to spice up the title - saying stuff like, "The first week of January" and the "Second week of January" was getting kind of old for me (wait, it's almost February? How is that possible???) I know I always complain about time flying by, but I'm trying to be optimistic about it. After all, February means we're closer to March, and March is when the Divergent movie comes out! :D *Starts squealing like a fangirl* "Calm down, Fairley: remember, you have a blog post to write…"

My Little Pony was okay. It was about Rainbow Dash and the Equestria Games. I know I keep saying it's okay, but...I just remember when MLP was awesome. I literally could look forward to every episode in season 2 (and season 1 was only slightly lower than season 1). Season 3 was when it jumped the shark, although they had some good episodes (though season 4 may be better). Whatever. Anyway...

I forgot to blog about Agents of Shield last week (not this week - it's on hiatus). It's just still eh right now. I wish they'd do more with Coulsion's mysterious revival. That's the only storyline I'm really interested in, unfortunately. My brother said that some people said Joss Whedon's shows take a little while to get into (although Joss is only executive producer of this), so maybe I should give it time. It's still somewhat entertaining, anyway. And the next episode has Stan Lee making a cameo (wherever superheroes are involved, Stan comes ;), and Sif from Thor is going to make a guest appearance (it looks like she's doing more than a cameo! :D)

I've become addicted to several Star Wars fanfictions on Fanfiction.net, at least on Saturday and Sunday…I really need to be banned from that website ;) I could spend an entire day on it and waste my weekend when I had *planned* to do some writing/reading.

I'm glad I got Monday off :) It would have been Martin Lurther King, Jr.'s birthday! Well, actually his birthday was either Wednesday or Thursday, but we celebrated it on Monday for the three day weekend thing :). Anyway, I never knew of him when he lived, but I've read about the great things he had done in his life. I hope he rests in peace.

Switched At Birth is still so-so, but at least they're focusing on more serious issues as opposed to romance. But I wish they would stop with the stereotypes. Like seriously, the black girl on the show is really catty. It's annoying and a little offensive -_- The weird thing is that they portray the mentally disabled people in positive lights -  I guess that would be considered too offensive to stereotype (which I totally agree with). But you shouldn't stereotype anyone or put them in "traditional" roles, so to speak. Oh, well, at least the show's overall theme is about family and acceptance.

I'm kind of nervous for exams in my screenwriting course that are due next Friday. :O I mean, I know I won't have anything really happen to me if I fail, given that it's an introduction course, but still...I want to do my best on it. And I can only take it once. I have calmed down and constantly reminded myself "What's the worst that could happen?" I'll just keep quizzing myself - so far, I got most of the answers right, so hopefully I'll do well on it :)

Ugh, I've hit a major writer's block in Hyper-Monkey. I'm trying to stretch the word count to 20,000, but I think that's proving to be the wrong route. I feel like the story is going on longer than it needs to be and I'm running out of ideas :P I may just finish it up sooner. This definitely wasn't my best work, but oh well - at least I got in a little writing most days of the week! Overall I think I did a fine job on it, if I say so myself ;)

On the bright side, I'm getting hit with constant inspiration for my Star Wars fanfiction that I plan to write in February, but now I have too many ideas to choose from! :O I guess some of these ideas did appear in my head since 2005, before I was an "official" writer. Hehe, anyway, I can't wait to write that fanifiction next month! Maybe it's good that I have so many ideas, because now I have multiple ideas to chose from when it comes to editing/publishing :D

Meemaw came over Wednesday and we played different card games. It was really fun! You see, my grandma can get competitive (in a friendly manner, nevertheless), so that makes things extra fun, especially when she's not winning XD Lol, but seriously, I had tons of fun. Momma said she's trying to come here today, too, so I'm estatic :D

Oh yeah, I don't know why I didn't blog about this last week, but my dad's been gone for about two weeks doing business trips around different states. It's been kind of weird that he's not been here for so long. I know he did work and I didn't see him as often as Mom, but his presence was still there. It just feels weird that he's absent. But Momma said he may be here Sunday, so that's good :)

And that's it for the week! Thanks for reading my blog, or part of it, whoever did. I now have over 2,000 views! :D I'm so happy. When I first had this blog I barely had any views, and now look where we are! *Starts singing Drake's lyrics "Started from the bottom now we're here!"* Lol, ciao!!!

Second Week

I can't believe it's basically the second week of January! Hey, time, it just turned 2014! Slow down, please! I know I ALWAYS say that the time goes by so fast, but it seriously does! Ah, well, they say time goes by fast when you're having fun :)

Last week's episode of My Little Pony was a little better. It had more conflict in which Pinkie Pie thought she was related to the Apple family and then they went on a trip to learn about family ad stuff.

From doing my online screenwriting class, I think I'll really enjoy writing a screenplay. Because it's more dialogue than a book or novel, which is what I prefer (I don't like giving descriptions), it may be more enjoyable to me. I don't want to get into my head that it's going to be easier, but it certainly looks fun, and you always work hard for something you enjoy :)

It felt weird that some of my family members were watching the playoffs Sunday and I wasn't. It's just that sports isn't really my thing. I enjoyed watching my brother play basketball, but that was mainly because I knew him. I don't really enjoy watching strangers play it. And I'm not really a sporty person. I tried basketball for one year before quitting, and I did soccer for three years and thought it was okay. I guess I'm just more of a dancer :)

I went to dance class Monday, and Switched At Birth came back on. I had to miss a little I had to miss part of Switched At Part. So far I think it looks better than the second half of the second season, since that was more about romance and this one looks less about that. It still doesn't look as good as the first season, but it looks like it may be getting back to being good :) Also, I just turned on Lab Rats since it was the season finale and it was really interesting! They need to do more 'darker' episodes - they're better in my opinion :)

I finished The Elite Tuesday. It wasn't the best book, but it was very engaging. I got annoyed with America constantly going back and forth between Aspen and Maxon and getting mad at them (mostly Maxon) and then making up - after awhile it got old. But I loved how there was more emphasis on the political aspect of the story, something that wasn't really in the first novel. So overall it was good. I'd probably give it a 3.5/5 stars.

We got the recital DVD for my last year at my old dance studio. I watched it and, while I didn't enjoy that dance as much as my other ones (partly because of the drama - so over that :P), it brought back good memories. I missed my dance mates. At least I'm friends with them on Facebook :)

Meemaw came over Wednesday :), and I finished Ramona The Brave. I don't know why, but I really like the Ramona books. It really is a classic. I can imagine any age enjoying the stories. Even if you're my age or an adult, you can relate to it in some way.

Okay so I took this Star Wars quiz Thursday and it said I was Yoda. I'm not sure how accurate that was (I still have much to learn lol) but at least it shows that I'm leaning towards wisdom :) Anyway, I just thought I'd share that with y'all, since, ya know, I'm a SW nut :)

I can't believe my screenwriting class is almost over! :O I had my last class Friday. I have an assignmen tI still need to complete, but I have two weeks. The ride has been difficult at times, but it also was fun and showed me just how much I think I love screenwriting. This lesson was about getting your stories out there, too, so that was really cool. After I do the final exam (AAH! EXAMNS!! Lol), I think I may take another online class involving creative writing :)

I'm really liking this writing websites I've found (Figment, Movellas, Fanfiction). I really really really want to be a professional writer, but while I'm not, I can publish them online, for FREE, and then have people giving me critical feedback for improvement :)

So that's pretty much my week in a nutshell. At the moment I can't stop playing Paramore's "Misery Busienss", which really is a guilty pleasure for me (the lyrics are manipulative and stuff, but the music is just so catchy! :P), I'm pumped for this 3-day weekend for MLK's birthday, and I'm getting ready to watch MLP in less than ten minutes. Bye, y'all!!!

It's January!

Hi, y'all! So we're now done with the first week of JanuaryI still can't believe it's 2014 already. And it's the eleventh. Seriously, time, why are you always in such a hurry? Can't you slow down and smell the pretty flowers? Anyway...

My Little Pony's episode last week was still…eh. The episode with Rarity learning to not take advantage of her friends was done before, except it was the other way around. I did like some parts of it, though. I guess I just feel obligated to finish it. I mean it's not like I don't like the show, it's justwhen I look at clips from previous seasons, it makes me

I went back to school this week…goodbye, freedmen! Lol, but seriously, it wasn't horrible. At least my college screenwriting class is interesting, as I have mentioned, and science is interesting…when it deals with the human body and doesn't go in-depth like I'm trying to become a scientist, ya know. History's fine, probably the most interesting subject (after screenwriting, which goes under the English category) and math is as useless as ever (not really, but it's still…just, don't expect me to get a degree in mathematics in the future :P)

Dance class Monday was nice. I still wish I could take the tap class, but they don't have enough people :( Plus, I like my teacher and classmates in my other class, and the dancing we do is always cool, so everything's fine with that :)

Agents of Shield is still eh, but I watched it when it came back on Tuesday. At least we found out what happened to Coulsion…sort of. We still don't know everything. I won't put up any spoilers, so I'll just leave it at that. Yeah. You know, I really wanted to like this show, but I just can't get into it that much. If

Meemaw came over Wednesday and we chatted :) I know I've said this before, but I just love it when my grandma visits. She's awesome, seriously. She usually comes by once a week to talk with her grandchildren. It's really nice :)

I started reading  Ramona The Brave a few days ago. I don't know what it is about the Ramona books, but I just loved the ones I read (Beezus and Ramona, Ramona The Pest, Ramona and her Mother, and, now, Ramona the Brave). They are written in such a way that they engage both adults and children. I read Beezus and Ramona when I was 13 and really enjoyed it.

I got The Elite from the library Friday, the sequel to The Selection. I know that I didn't love that book, but…I don't know what it was about it, maybe the writing style, but it just pulls me in. I love how it's set during the monarchy times and even deals with a little political stuff. If the author added in more descriptions about the history of the society, then I'd like it even better. But at least it's still entertaining.

Sometimes (too many times) I get distracted at the library with the books when I'm supposed to be working. I know I'm a volunteer and didn't have to be there, but I don't want to be lazy :P Not that anyone gets mad at me for doing it, but still! I must curb my inner bookworm-ness! XD

I really cannot get away from my Star Was obsession, can I? Not only did Disney have the nerve to announce three new films in the future, but there's also some EU books at the library and ones I looked up on Wookipedia (an online Star Wars encyclopedia) that I want to read, plus I think I want to watch the Clone Wars, the new Rebels series is coming out, I got some novelizations from the book sale last year, my siblings have the Angry Birds themed game for it, and we have Lego games. Oh yeah, and I had a fanfiction I wanted to write for the fandom. Gah! Do the writers know how aggravating this is? I had been trying to go to rehab for You-Know-What for n long, but now it's no use. It's everywhere.  And I've been obsessed with this freakin' thing since 2005, which was nine years ago. I just won't get a cure, will I? Not that I have a problem with that ;)

I heard that WB had announced spinoff films of an EU sort for Harry Potter, which I hope is true is not a rumor. If not, then I'm making my own EU for it in fanfiction form. Part of the reason my SW obsession is so high is because of the EU--while it is contradicting at times (they have multiple authors), it does more with the universe so that I can obsess over new things. So that's what I'll probably end up doing. It'll be similar to my Biggest-Obsession-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named with some prequels featuring Harry's parents and their peers. I'll also want to expand on other things that were mentioned in the books but never happened on page (such as Dumbledore's hunt for the Horcruxes), and maybe some AUs (such as the prevention of Sirius' death, or him being Harry's caregiver, or James and Lily surviving). Oh, this'll be fun :)

So that pretty much sums up the random stuff that goes on in my life. My Little Pony's coming on today, and I'll pretty much be hanging out for the rest of the day writing/reading and loving my Saturday, as always :) Bye!

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it's already 2014! Gosh, where did 2013 go? So much happened last year, and it's so hard to believe that's it's already over. Of course, I always say this during the first week or so of the new year, but it's just…365 days seems like quite a lot of time, doesn't it? It's amazing that that time is already over.

But anyway, enough of reminiscing…I hope everyone had a great new year. My blog is about one year old now, since I got it in January, and I'm so excited! Blogging has been quite the experience and has brought me joy. I love writing down all the little things that happen in my life and then looking back at them. I'm sure I would have liked having a diary if I had known it would be this fun.

And now that we've got that out of the way, let's log down what's been happening this week! Some of it is from last year, since the new year officially started on Wednesday and I'm logging down my week starting from last Saturday, but really, we're the ones who make up this time as "years" and "days" and "months" and "weeks". It never feels any different when it's a new year. So yeah…anyway...

Stan Lee's birthday was last Saturday! He's 91 now. I don't want to sound morbid, but I didn't know he'd live this long. Not that I'm complaining, though: that man has brought me some awesome superheroes, from Spider-Man to X-Men to Thor to so many others. Keep making cameos, dude! Stan's the man :)

My Little Pony's episode last week was kind of eh. Fluttershy was always shy, of course, but now they seem to be downgrading her assertiveness even though she was improving on it in season 2. And I don't understand how she was afraid to use the stare if she used it on Angel. But oh well…at least it's still mildly entertaining. I guess I feel kind of obligated to finish it because I've been a pegasister for awhile now. I still love the ponies and the first two seasons of the show :)

I finished Mary Poppins this week. Odd story but fun also. I also finished a Liberty's Kid novelization we had in our library. It was pretty good and made me want to watch the television series again. I also read some of The Maze Runner, which was okay. Most of the characters annoy me, and as far as dystopians go, the setup feels farfetched to me, but the mystery intrigues me. Besides, I need to get back to some reading to spice up my creative juices.

Meemaw came over Thursday :) She told me that she had read my blogs (I gave her the addresses a few weeks ago) and she said that she really liked it. So now I feel like I have something to aspire too! XD just kidding. Anyway, we spent time with her playing cards and talking and such. She's so awesome. I love spending time with my grandma :)

I was rewatching Clone Wars (2002) series on Youtube (I saw it several years ago on Boomerang). I think I like it better than the new one, the more popular 2008 one, only because it feels more canon (the ending leads RIGHT into Revenge of The Sith. No joke). I just realized how good that series was. Before I just watched it because it was Star Wars-related (and still kind of do to some extent ;) but it was also rather interesting and had me up way too late last night. I wish it had gone on a little longer because everyone seems to have forgotten about it :( Except the people commenting on Youtube, though, who remembered it as a kid (which was back in 2002. Did I mention that I feel old? :O)

Speaking of the Clone Wars I got the Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars game mainly because it's Star Wars-related (I told you I was obsessed ;). But seriously, the game did look kind of fun, and it is. Probably not my favorite lego game, but still fun enough. And the hub is bigger than the one in the other Lego Star Wars game.

The more work I do for my screenwriting course, the more I believe it's something I really want to go into. I also think creative writing will be fun, but sometimes I just imagine my stories playing in a film or television series, you know?

I've been trying to write a story a month. I figured that if I managed to get down a certain word count everyday of the week (I've gotta take off weekends XD), then I can get it done in about 28 days. Right now I'm in the midst of working on the second Hyper-Monkey book. When I'm done with it, I'll post it on my blog for my writings. Feel free to check it out :)

Well, that's pretty much it for this week. Once again, I hope everyone is having a glorious new year. I have to go back to school Monday (yuck lol) but I'll also go back to dance class and volunteering at the library, so that's cool. Happy New Year, everyone!!!
